multiple sclerosis and celiac

I have been diagnosed with Celiac for 5 years now.  Over the last 6 months or so I have been dealing with numb toes in both feet.  I also have occasional feelings of pins and needles in my hands and feet as well as involuntary muscle twitches and once in a while a severe muscle cramp in various places. These have occurred before and have gone away on their own. When exercising I would quickly loose strength in my muscles and have electric like impulses shooting through my forearms when taxing…See More

About Me
I have been struggling with health issues over the past couple of years, mainly fatigue and other minor nagging issues. All basically dismissed. Finally got the doctor to check my thyroid and was referred to an endocrinologist. Thought I might be going hypothyroid but still had tests in the normal range. Went back to the regular doctor due to slowly increasing GI issues. Initially was told I was IBS but he decided to check for Celiac after I pushed. Also refused to refer to gastroenterology. Gliadin Antibody IgA test postive. Doctor now says I am celiac/gluten intolerant. Feeling much better after about a month (June 2010) being gluten free.

How funny!  I had an Udi's bagel and lox this morning.  Probably the first time in 2 years that I have had a bagel.  It was pretty decent actually!
