A few weeks ago, I received a teriyaki sauce sample from Norlander’s Original to try out. I have always enjoyed teriyaki sauces, but have not been able to have teriyaki sauce that often, since most teriyaki sauces contain gluten. Therefore, I was extremely excited to try a gluten-free teriyaki sauce.

On Norlander’s Original Website, they offer a few recipes for different ways to use their sauces. One is a marinade for chicken or beef, one is a recipe for a party mix and another is for a cream cheese party dip. Although all of their recipe suggestions look great, I decided to try the teriyaki sauce in a more traditional manner…

…and cook a chicken vegetable stir-fry! (see the picture below)

I steamed the vegetables and the rice, cooked the chicken, then added them all to a wok with some of Norlander’s Original Teriyaki Sauce. I have to say that I was HIGHLY impressed by the taste of the teriyaki sauce. The sauce has a great mix of flavor and sweetness and went very well with the stir-fry. If you try it for the first time, you might initially think that the sauce is a bit sweet, but that can be easily corrected by mixing it with a small amount of water. Typically, I use a gluten-free soy sauce with any stir-frys that I make, but after tasting the teriyaki sauce, I will be using it on any and all stir-frys that I make from now on!

In addition, I gave a little bit of the stir-fry to my girlfriend, who is not gluten-free, but is a big fan of Chinese food and teriyaki sauce. She tasted a bite, then had another, and another…well you get the point. She thought the sauce tasted great and couldn’t tell the difference between Norlander’s Original Gluten-Free Teriyaki Sauce and a “normal” teriyaki sauce.

Conclusion: I would give it an A+ and highly recommend Norlander’s Original Teriyaki Sauce!

Wow! Thank you for this review Chad. I've been in desperate need of a good gluten free teriyaki sauce. I went to the site but couldn't find who sells the sauce. Where did you pick it up?

The Teriyaki sauce was good, but the mesquite bbq sauce from this company is well...gross. We'll be releasing our episode of @gfreetv on Norlander's products in the next week or so.

@Gabrielle - No problem. I was actually given a sample of the sauce to try out and review...

As far as I know, you can purchase the sauce on their website. I have sent a few inquiries to see if they sell their sauces in any retail stores. I'll let you know what I find out!

That looks delicious! My favorite teriyaki sauce is Cormier's Gold ginger-garlic stirfry sauce; all their sauces are gluten free! You can apply on the site to receive a free sample to review, too! The site is www.cormiersgold.com
